Anything Goes: Putting On The 30's At The Plaza

The Plaza's very firsy Art Deco weekend. An exciting programme of events which offer free tours alongside ticketed events, all of which celebrate the last true era of style and glamour which lives on here in the heart of the Greater Manchester region.

The Plaza which was saved from potential demolition only 15 short years ago by the community here in Stockport has become the jewel in the crown of the local arts scene with a Grade II* award winning venue which is internationally recognised due to its architectural important as the ONLY Super Cinema and Variety Theatre still trading in her original capacity.

Saturday 6th June – Programme

Pavement ‘Park Cafe’ serving delicious beverages and teas outside The Plaza
Deco Cafe serving homemade lemonade, Pimms and delicious fancies in Circle Foyer
Children’s Treasure Hunt
Open Tours commencing 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm – FREE TO ATTEND
Early 30’s menu served all day in Art Deco Cafe Restaurant
Cafe Orchestra performing at intervals throughout the day in our sumptuous Cafe Restaurant

7.30pm – Cine Variety Presentation – The Palm Court 10 piece Orchestra followed by giant silver screening of ‘Roman Scandals’ – (Cert PG)

Take to the Stage dining experience – 7.30pm. A fine dining experience where you can celebrate the Finale of our Art Deco weekend in the most sumptuous dining venue in the North West on stage at The Plaza.
