Monkey Poet's 'stand-up poetry' is topical, relevant, hard-hitting, dark, rude and cheek achingly funny. Following the Bill Hick's line of 'Social comment with d*ck-jokes' he tackles themes such as; Nationalism, homophobia, misogyny, porn, religious bigotry, wealth inequality, war and inept politicians, whilst entertaining audiences poised on the edge of their seats, fully braced for the attack of quick witted cerebral challenges. Praised by a fair amount of critics and often inspiring to even the most jaded cynic, Monkey Poet has remained very much on the fringe of notoriety. In equal measure he's earned the name 'Trash Can Guy' amongst his peers in North America, having had a bin full of beer bottles hurled at him during an opening night in San Francisco, and refunded festival goers following complaints at the fringe.
