The Mod All Star Band
The exciting sound of The Mod All Star Band features blue eyed soul singer Steve Ellis, the original lead vocalist from Love Affair, R'n'B legend Chris Farlowe (or Cliff Bennett with his No 1 hit 'Got To Get You Into My Life' and 'One Way Love', who appears should Chris be unavailable), and Northern Soul icon Lorraine Silver. The musicians 'keeping the faith' are a six-piece band, including sax / hammond led by Saxman Frogman Curtis, producing all those authentic sounds. This show will keep you dancing all night long...a must for scooter festivals and soul clubs everywhere!

One-time amateur boxer Chris Farlowe's musical career began with a skiffle group, before joining The Thunderbirds in the mid 1960s. Probably best remembered for his version of the Jagger-Richard composition 'Out Of Time' and 'Handbags And Gladrags', later being covered by Rod Stewart and The Stereophonics. In the 1970s he also sang in the hard rock supergroup Atomic Rooster.

On 6 February 1968, one of the UK's most endearing number ones - Everlasting Love - hit the top of the charts. The group behind it were called Love Affair fronted by singer Steve Ellis who was acknowledged as having one of the best soul-rock voices in the business. With their sharp Mod looks and a host of national TV appearances behind them, Love Affair found themselves enjoying the kind of exposure and adulation that was being afforded to the likes of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Their version of Everlasting Love remains a stone-cold classic, one which not only reached number one in the UK, but went Top 10 in 7 other countries and has amassed over 10 million sales to date. 2018 marked the 50th anniversary of Everlasting Love and Steve Ellis remains the only original member of the record to still be performing it. Steve continues to record and tour with his solo material, plus occasionally hits the road under the name of Steve Ellis' Love Affair, and has once again found himself being cited as a Mod hero to a new generation of fans

Northern soul legend Lorraine Silver recorded “Lost Summer Love” when she was 13 years old in 1965. Now 53 years later she has been in the recording studios with legendary record producer Ian Levine to cut a brand new song ‘Standing At The Intersection’. This has been written especially for her after he saw her perform at the recent ‘Northern Soul Survivors Weekend’ at Butlin’s Skegness which had 8000 devoted Northern Soul fans in attendance. Lorraine is on tour regularly appearing at Northern Soul festivals and theatres throughout the UK as special guest of the original Edwin Starr Band featuring Angelo Starr. She was also invited to appear for Children In Need on Tony Blackburn's Big Soul Night Out 2017 which was broadcast live by BBC Radio London. Thanks to legendary Northern Soul DJ Russ Winstanley the single Lorraine recorded for Pye Records in 1965 ‘Lost Summer Love’ became an iconic track at the legendary Wigan Casino in the 70’s without her knowledge. Due to high public demand the single was re-released on Casino Classics label and sold in excess of 30,000 copies. The track was listed in ‘Blues & Soul ‘ Magazine in 1987 as one of the top 10 Northern Soul records of all time... This kick-started Lorraine’s career as a Northern Soul artist. In 2004 she recorded a brand new album of Northern Soul anthems ‘The Northern Soul Sessions’ which still sells well on download today under the new title ‘Northern Soul Diva’. This includes her re-recordings of classic track ‘Lost Summer Love’ her follow up single ‘The Happy Faces’ and her versions of some Northern Soul classics including ‘Landslide ‘ & the Burt Bacharach / Hal David penned ‘Long After Tonight Is All Over‘. ’Lost Summer Love’ is still a much loved record on the Northern Soul & Scooter scene today and is featured on numerous download & CD compilations.
