Great Expectations
Charles Dickens' epic in an adaptation by Nick Ormerod and Declan Donnellan performed by ACT II youth theatre.
Great Expectations tells the story of orphan Pip, whose terrifying encounter with an escaped convict changes his life forever.
He strives to better himself, seeking the affection of ice-cold Estella, adopted daughter of Miss Haversham, herself imprisoned in her wedding dress.
However, Pip is not aware of the hidden dangers that lie ahead when he turns his back on his humble life as a blacksmith’s apprentice.
