The Man Upstairs
George Longford just wants a quiet life. He likes nothing better than an evening at home with his books, communicating by virtue of cutting-edge 1950’s technology with his friend in the flat upstairs.
One evening, he is visited by Cyrus Armstrong whose urbane manner barely conceals a powerful menace. Accusing George of harming his sister, Cyrus threatens extreme physical pain. It is only the arrival of Cyrus’ mother which saves George. She cannot be more apologetic but the only way to be really safe is to get Cyrus far, far away…
Chilling psychological drama from Patrick Hamilton, the author of Gaslight.
