Wonderful Beast Theatre Company, Martin Bonger

Wonderful Beast will be touring the production this autumn and is delighted have been given permission by English Heritage to stage the play inside Orford Castle. The two performances, surrounded by the impenetrable stone walls that the Wildman would have known, promise a unique and immersive experience.

Local writer, Thea Smiley, spins a fascinating tale set in an evocative and historic landscape where the Wildman reappears, enthralling you with his mythical powers. The highly dramatic narrative is performed by actor Martin Bonger, with atmospheric music played by Sylvia Hallett, traditional sea shanties performed by the Wonderful Beast Singers (a local amateur group of enthusiastic vocalists) and voiceovers written and recorded by the children of Aldeburgh and Orford primary schools.
