Southport Jazz Festival
The Northern Jazz Orchestra was formed in 1989 by drummer Paul J Rigby. Working to develop their own unique sound, they combine the best of big band standards with more contemporary jazz using the top musicians in the north.
Playing the music of Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Bob Mintzer etc. The band have appeared with such artists as Bobby Shew, Mark Nightingale, Elaine Delmar and Kenny Baker.
