Southport Jazz Festival

Sheffield born-Hutton started playing piano at the early age of 5. After a brief year studying music and performing art in New York (SUNY), Hutton decided to turn his focus fully to Jazz piano and soon won the appraisal of the late Ronnie Scott who described Hutton as a 'great British talent and a wonderfully natural pianist'. Moving to London during the mid '90s, Hutton won a full scholarship to the Guildhall school of music and drama.

It is the different Styles of the piano that has always been an attraction and has led to performing music as diverse as Stride, Salsa, Modern Jazz, Classical and Pop.

The Southport Jazz Festival audience will be amongst the first to hear music from the much anticpated fourth album from the Alex Hutton Trio entitled "The Magna-Carta Suite" to be released in May.

See www.visitsouthport.com for full Southport Jazz Festival programme.
