West Side Story

The Palace Theatre has been running their Summer Youth Projects for ten years in 2017 and this year, young performers will be taking part in the all-American musical masterpiece West Side Story!

The Palace Theatre Summer Youth Project is open to anyone aged between 9 – 19 and is a great opportunity to work with a professional creative team as well as the Technical, Marketing, Front of House and Education Team at Southend Theatres. Opportunities are also available to assist with the production, directing, choreography or musical direction. Participants get to learn about the theatre, make new friends, have fun and perform a stunning production in a professional theatre environment.

Two gangs, two lovers; excitement and danger; West Side Story is a twist on the classic story of Romeo and Juliet. Filled with iconic musical theatre songs including America, I Feel Pretty, Maria and Tonight, this exciting musical will captivate and astound.
