Keep The Home-Fires Burning
Keep The Home-Fires Burning is a commemoration, in music and song, of the Centenary of the outbreak of The First World War. Beginning on 1st July 1912 with the very first Royal Command Performance, the show continues with the build-up to, recruiting for, outbreak and duration of World War One using songs of the era and recalling the great entertainers who sang them. Songs that were sung at home whilst the boys were away and songs that Tommy Atkins sang in the trenches evoke the spirit, the emotions and the down-right bravery of the men and women involved, in whatever way, with the conflict that everyone thought would be 'the war to end all wars'. Join us and wave a flag in recognition of those who, not so very long ago, served their country in The Great War.
