Larkin Poe + Blair Dunlop
"I had booked this band before their outstanding performance at Cropredy. Just as well I did, because they are fast becoming one of the 'most wanted' bands on the circuit. To get them as a duo would be great but we have the full five-piece band that will produce an evening of totally outstanding music. Absolutely brilliant live, you will love this group making their very first appearance at The David Hall.
It is also a pleasure to welcome Blair Dunlop, son of Ashley Hutchings, to the Hall"
Info provided by the Event Organiser
Describing themselves as "roots-rock'n'soul", Atlanta GA roots group Larkin Poe are sister duo Rebecca & Megan Lovell, augmented by musicians, Robby Handley (bass, keys and harmony vocals), and Marlon Patton (drums & percussion). After years of being fercely independent, with five self-released EPs and touring for three years without label support, they eventually decided to sign with RH Music.
"Violins and mandolins have been laid down in favour of slick electric guitars, their snappy vignettes of tough love bristling with a Seventies classic pop rock sheen of sinuous riffs, snappy handclaps and cheeky call and response vocals" - The Telegraph.

Blair Dunlop, the award-winning British singer, songwriter and guitarist, released two EPs in his teens and became a regular at folk festivals in both Britain and abroad. His debut album ‘Blight & Blossom’ established him as an artist with a promising career ahead and led to him receiving both critical acclaim and the Horizon Award at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
His follow up album, 2014’s ‘House of Jacks’, lived up to that promise and cemented his place as one of Britain’s most exciting talents to come from the folk scene. The Guardian stated that the album proves Blair is ‘an increasingly adventurous songwriter’, Uncut reviewed it as ‘thoughtful and exploratory’, The Independent on Sunday described it as ‘fluent, lamentory and accomplished’ and Q Magazine simply wrote that House of Jacks is ‘an exciting glimpse of where traditional folk might go’.
