Never miss another 'Eliza Carthy' show
Carthy, Hardy, Farrell And Young.: Eliza Carthy + Bella Hardy + Lucy Farrell + Kate Young
"Without doubt, this will be a really special gig. Four of Folk's brightest young female performers, all of whom would be welcome as soloists, will be together with us at the same time to ensure that this will be another 'night to remember'. One of the most talked about gigs of 2010 was when Eliza brought her band to the Hall and played to a sell-out audience. This is a new project but there is no doubt that the album released to promote this tour will become a big hit with all the lovers of the 'Tradition'. Please book early."
Info provided by the Event Organiser
The daughter of Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson - and the new star of British folk - playing traditional English folk music at its best. Eliza breathes new life into England's traditional folk music with her witty and energetic repertoire. Eliza's band are: Eliza (fiddle, guitar, accordion, voice), Willy Molleson (drums), Emma Smith (double dass), Phil Alexander ( piano, accordion) and Bethany Porter (cello).

Bella is one of the finest young folk acts around, singing unaccompanied ballads, or entwining her hypnotic voice with her own fiddle accompaniment to breathtaking effect. Three times nominated in the BBC Folk Awards, she has a voice marked as '...mesmerising' and '...faultless'.
Her songs touch on both the fantastical, storytelling elements of Kate Bush and the lovelorn songwriting craft of Carole King, ranging in subject matter from fairytales to English working class history via childhood nostalgia, myths, murder and the human condition.
'Stunning... there is an aura of sophistication that will win over listeners who never
set foot in a folk club' (The Sunday Times).
