Aldeburgh Festival: Bach - St John Passion
1964: Sir John Eliot Gardiner forms the Monteverdi Choir, and forges a partnership that has become a byword for superlative interpretations and pioneering practice in early music and beyond, defined by illuminating and inspiring performances. T

Bach’s great Passion has been a touchstone for Gardiner and Aldeburgh and, fittingly, the midpoint of the Britten centenary Festival is marked by one of the great monuments in musical history in the hands of one of its most notable modern interpreters.
