Sheff Shakes

The Dilys Guite Players have expanded their membership to young people between the ages of 8 and 16 with the formation of the DGP Youth Group SHEFF SHAKES.

Our main aims are to develop young people’s love of theatre and acting skills by putting on exciting performances with lighting, sound, costumes and sets; making full use of the amazing theatre facilities that DGP has access to in the Lantern Theatre.

We have already put on two very successful free workshops and an exciting and innovative week long Summer School in July that culminated with a fabulous performance based on a highly imaginative version of Hamlet. The audience were wowed by the performances of the young talented actors and the quality of the show produced, achieved in just five days! We want to encourage all interested youngsters to attend so no auditions are required and fees have been kept low with the aim of obtaining sponsorship to help with the additional costs needed to run the group.
