In the early 1960s, the great American musician Andre Previn started work on a film musical based on Goodbye, Mr Chips, the story of a conservative schoolmaster who falls in love with an actress. After several years of development, Previn left the project and a new score was written by a different composer.

Previn's score included over 20 beautiful songs, most of which have never been heard before. Thanks to the work of singer and archivist Michael Feinstein, and with special permission from Previn himself, this concert will feature the first-ever live performances of most of the songs from the film score.

The concert will feature a 36-piece orchestra conducted by Matthew Malone and the concert will be presented by Dominic McHugh of the Department of Music.
