Viva Italia - Viva Espana!
The vibrant cultures of Italy and Spain have long been sources of inspiration to composers of many countries. Sevenoaks Symphony Orchestra presents an exciting programme of works, influenced by the colourful sights and sounds of both regions.
We begin in Italy with Verdi's 'Overture, The Sicilian Vespers', followed by Berlioz's celebrated 'Harold in Italy'. We are delighted to be joined for the Berlioz by International soloist and prize winning viola player Timothy Ridout. We then visit Spain with Rimsky Korsakov's, 'Capriccio Espagnol', Chabrier's 'España' and Ravel's exquisite 'Pavane pour une infante défunte'.
