“The Story of Love in the Harbour” is a powerful musical dramatization of the romance between Captain George McElroy, an RAF officer and a young Irish girl, Grace Guinan, who fight with passion to preserve their love at a time of huge change and turmoil in the world. Set in World War 1 on the front-line in France and in rural Ireland, the beautiful all-original music, songs and lyrics, performed live by Danielle Morgan and her orchestra, convey an eloquent message of the futility of war, and lead us to reflect on the true meaning of heroism, sacrifice and love – timeless themes still relevant today. Innovatively combing true events with fiction, the story is conveyed through stirring scene enactments on stage, compelling narration and vivid images from the period – all designed to inspire, inform and move the audience.
