Elgar Cello Concerto
Join SSO for an all-English concert afternoon. From Vaughan William's rousing English Folk Song Suite, to Fennimore and Gerda - Intermezzo by Delius, and finally Walton's mighty Symphony No 1, come with us and wander through this rich tapestry of works from the repertoire.
Highlighting the programme is a performance of Elgar's awe inspiring Cello Concerto, a work made famous by English cellist Jaqueline du Pre. To this day, the cello concerto continues to capture new audiences with its haunting contemplative brilliance.
