Italy – Carnival and Caprice.
They are delighted to be welcoming back young trumpet virtuoso and former SSO member Matilda Lloyd for our concert of Italian delights, comprising music either by Italian composers or inspired by Italy.
Soloist in the 2016 Proms and often to be heard on Radio 2 and 3, Matilda is currently a Park Lane Group Young Artist and will join the orchestra in Artun's famous Carnival of Venice and an Italian Aria.
You will be transported to the streets of Rome in Respighi's evocative symphonic poem The Fountains of Rome and Tchaikovsky's colourful Cappriccio Italien. Berlioz's exciting Carnival Romain will get the concerto off to a high-spirited start.
