Stunning vocalist, thoughtful songwriter, deft roots instrumentalist and one of the most distinctive and compelling voices in contemporary Americana, Nashville’s Rachel Baiman, performing here with her trio, creates music centred around themes of social justice and love in hard times, moving effortlessly between bluegrass, folk, old-time and country. Raised in Chicago by a radical economist and a social worker, Rachel found music a welcome escape from worrying about global politics and moved to Nashville, forming the hugely lauded, progressive Americana act 10 String Symphony with Grammy nominated fiddle player Christian Sedelmeyer. The duo have toured globally for nearly eight years, but Rachel has also collaborated with numerous others, playing fiddle for the likes of Kacey Musgraves and Oh My Darling, as well as performing as a duo with one of American folks biggest new stars, Molly Tuttle.
Rachel Baiman
Perhaps best known as one half of 10 String Symphony, Rachel Baiman is a Nashville Americana songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
