Odysseus has come home from the war. His bath’s broken, and he can’t fix it. As he stares at his reflection, he begins to suspect that his journey back to the people he loves might not be as easy at it seems.

Theatre Témoin and Grafted Cede present a unique and striking exploration of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in a modern retelling of Homer’s Odyssey. Set in a bathroom, Nobody’s Home follows a soldier’s journey through his own mind, as he struggles with the monsters of his past to finally arrive home.

Both Theatre Témoin and Grafted Cede share a passion for telling exciting stories in a visually unforgettable way and devised Nobody’s Home in California via a series of collaborative workshops with combat veterans. It was originally presented at both Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe festivals in 2011, where it received 5-star reviews, and performed in theatres and universities throughout the USA.

With its central theme arguably even more urgent and relevant today than it was five years ago, the production is now being revived for a tour of British theatres and military veteran communities. An integral part of the tour will be an outreach campaign run with assistance from PTSD professionals including the charity Combat Stress, to engage war veterans and others with experience of war and trauma, as well as youth workshops in physical theatre.
