Rambert Dance Company

Rambert are one of The Lowry’s original partner companies, each year bringing a triple bill of some of the UK’s most acclaimed contemporary dance to the Lyric Theatre stage.

This year however, expect something different. In October the company will perform its first full length narrative dance work for over 30 years.

‘Life is a Dream’ will be a spectacular production that combines vivid dance story-telling, the rich, symphonic music of Witold Lutos?awski played live, and the stunning visual imagination of filmmakers the Quay Brothers, who set the piece in an ever-changing, dream-like world.

With dramatic and lyrical dancing from Rambert’s brilliant ensemble, ‘Life is a Dream’ is a study of desires, as recognisable in today’s mass-mediated world as at any time in the past 400 years, and our longing for an authentic experience.
