The Red Brick Chamber Sessions
The Red Brick Chamber Sessions is a series of free concerts in partnership with the University of Salford. Involving top class musicians from the BBC Philharmonic, the innovative programming of The Red Brick Sessions continues to weave through this series of shorter, up-close and intimate chamber concerts.
Timeless works are paired with new music, creating an exciting opportunity to observe musicians interact without a conductor to create their own personal performances.
Programme:
In the finale of the Red Brick Chamber Sessions, the Vonnegut Collective will perform a collaborative work involving spoken word, projection, recorded sound, web-scores and live improvisation. This piece is a very human reflection of the Collective’s experiences when tackling Cardew’s work 'Autumn 60'.
Involving musicians from the BBC Philharmonic with guest composers/collaborators Tullis Rennie (electronics, trombone), Cath Roberts (baritone saxophone) and Anton Hunter (electric guitar).
'Confronting Cardew' - a sonic exploration of Cornelius Cardew’s Orchestral work Autumn 60.
The Red Brick Sessions are brought to you in partnership between the BBC Philharmonic, the University of Salford, Salford City Council and BBC Research and Development.
