As a solo artist, she has released three albums to great critical acclaim. Noted for her evocative and thought-provoking lyrics, and her inventive way with rhyme, her live performances have bags of vulnerability and sass in equal measures.

The Frank And Walters

The Frank And Walters appearing at this event

Once upon a not-so-very-long-ago three friends from Cork decided to form a musical band. Their collective love of melody and God-given gift for a hook saw riches and acclaim bestowed on them from far and wide and they lived happily ever after safe in the knowledge that hard work, wonderful songs and honest talent would always win the day... It's been a long, strange, beautiful journey for The Franks, who in the 90s flirted with the charts on this continent and others, but no-one can deny they made their mark. Hell, there's even an all-girl Japanese Franks tribute band! Sing along to After All, Fashion Crisis Hits New York, This Is Not A Song and Happy Busman.

Cats On Fire

Cats On Fire are four young men with mind-altering melodies, spring-to-your-step rhythms and grin-inducing lyrics. Inspired by the British greats of indie-pop like The Smiths, Belle And Sebastian, Pulp and Felt, it's a wonder that Cats On Fire are from Turku/Abo in Finland. However, from Scandinavia they come, armed with songs full of the kind of melancholy that have that strange knack of pumping you full of triumphant glory. From their upbeat, bouncier numbers right down to the introspective, slower moments, Cats On Fire display an unnerving skill for memorable tunes and wonderfully expressive lyrics.

The Lovely Eggs

The Lovely Eggs appearing at this event

Lancaster duo David and Holly are the Lovely Eggs. They make short, sharp punk-pop songs with sweet and sour lyrics. The strange song topics range from bikes and snails to digital accordians and watermelons. Holly was previously the lead singer for late-90's girl band Angelica, loved by Steve Lamacq, while The Lovely Eggs have found fans with 6 Music's Marc Riley, Radio 1's Huw Stephens and Art Brut's Eddie Argos. Their 'Don't Look At Me' video became a YouTube sensation thanks to a guest appearance by cult comic character John Shuttleworth, while the single 'Allergies' was produced by Gruff Rhys of the Super Furry Animals, who also made a cameo in the video.
