Vaughan Grylls - Heaven's Above

For over 40 years, Grylls has been producing work that challenges our perception of photography as a medium. He deals with what many people would consider 'photomontage', but in a very innovative way. Photographs are pinned together, or merged on a computer, printed out, sometimes framed and arranged to create a distinctive configuration. Grylls dissects subjects from a very personal, historical, political or religious perspective. Each photograph tells a story that explains the context behind the work, drawing the viewer ever closer.
