Will Johns & Friends

Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser

Born in London, Will’s parents are the legendary L.A. record producer/engineer Andy Johns and actress/model Paula Boyd. From the age of 15 Will taught himself guitar but received huge encouragement from his world renowned uncle, Eric Clapton.

Having been writing and performing for over 15 years across the globe Will has picked up many accolades along the journey, not least his British Blues Award nominations for ‘On My Back’ from his debut solo album Count On Me in 2012, and for ‘Kissing You’ from the superb Hooks & Lines album in 2013.

A big favourite among festival goers, Will has appeared across the UK at such prestigious events as Blues On The Farm, Birmingham Jazz and Blues and Cambridge Rock Festival.

Will Johns - Something Old Something New

2016 marked the release of his third album “Something Old, Something New.” The track “Blues Police” gaining airplay on The Paul Jones Show on BBC Radio 2. The album was also the IBBA pick of the month in April. After a successful spring UK tour, Will toured the Czech Republic to sold out venues and then Belgium before heading to Russia to perform in Moscow and St Petersburg as part of The Great British Rhythm and Blues Invasion.

The video for “Tears Of A Butterfly” was shot in Moscow and the song features a collaboration with OYME, the Mordovian folk group Will began working with in 2015.

Another highlight from 2016 year was the Concert “An Evening for Jack” Bruce organised by Malcolm Bruce and Pete Brown. The memorable event was held at Shepherds Bush Empire.

Will performed ‘White Room’ alongside luminaries including Mick Taylor, Dennis Chambers and Terry Reid.

Will has released three excellent solo albums, Count On Me (2008), Hooks & Lines (2012), and Something Old, Something New (2015).

He is back at the Crawdaddy for the third time with his fabulous band and some special guests including our good friend Ian Mchugh.
