Two Irish tramps meet, and await the arrival of 'Godot'. Whilst they wait they while away the time by quarrelling, making up, contemplating suicide, trying to sleep, eating a carrot and gnawing on some chicken bones.
Godot never appears, but two other strangers, Lucky and Pozzo, in a bizarre master/servant relationship, do turn up.
