DNA
A group of teenagers do something bad, really bad, then panic and cover the whole thing up.
They find that the cover-up unites them and brings harmony to their otherwise fractious lives; so when the cover-up implicates an innocent man, what's the incentive to put things right?
'DNA' is a poignant and, sometimes, hilarious tale with a very dark heart.
'DNA' is a play for young people originally performed at the National Theatre in the 'Connections' season of 2007. These plays are specifically written with teenagers in mind and this play is now a set text for GCSE students.
Dennis Kelly is now better known for co-writing the musical 'Matilda' with Tim Minchin, he has been writing and producing plays since 2003.
'DNA' is regularly performed by teenagers and is therefore suitable for anyone over 13. It does contain language and content which most teenagers are familiar with, and which their parents might consider adult.
