Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra, Lancashire Youth Symphony Orchestra

Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra (PSO) and Lancashire Youth Symphony Orchestra join forces to present a family friendly concert and afternoon of musical activities at Preston Guildhall, on Sunday 26th February 2017, activities and workshops from Midday, concert 3:00pm.

The event is aimed at engaging children and their families with music in a relaxed and fun environment.

Starting at Midday there will be workshops where you can try out different instruments including Violins, Trumpets and Clarinets, a chance to ‘have a go’ on an instrument you have always wanted to play!

In LiVe (Guildhall Foyer) come and explore different musical activities, get up close to unusual instruments, meet players from the orchestra, compose music and try out your conducting skills.

At 3:00pm all 100 players from both orchestras will come together to play a concert full of exciting music, including excerpts from West Side Story, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, Copland’s iconic Fanfare For the Common Man and more.
