Robeson Remembered
Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser
On 5th October 1957 the great Paul Robeson – actor, singer, sportsman and civil rights activist - made his famous transatlantic broadcast to the Miners’ Eisteddfod in The Grand Pavilion.
To commemorate this historic event and celebrate the rich cultural connection between this venue, the miners and the valleys, Bridgend Youth Theatre presents a brand new piece of theatre using film, dance and live music.
Created by the young people themselves in partnership with Roger Burnell, Louise Osborne, John Rea and Gavin Porter, this production is supported by Arts Council of Wales.
