A Linha Curva & Other Works
Rambert brings the riotous, colourful, sexy A Linha Curva to Theatre Royal Plymouth. This percussion fuelled explosion of samba-flavoured dance helped the company win the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance in 2010.
This triple bill from Britain’s national dance company also includes the exquisite Transfigured Night. Created by two-time Olivier Award-winning choreographer Kim Brandstrup, it is a heartbreaking love story danced to Schoenberg’s achingly beautiful score. Flight looks at the subject of migration. It uses multimedia projections to create an evershifting backdrop as the dancers dramatise the mix of hope and fear that make up the migrant experience of leaving one home to search for another.
An evening of contrasting works which share Rambert’s trademark quality: combining virtuoso dancing and live music to thrilling effect.
