Talk: Time For Tea - Depictions Of Tea In Art
Tea has been a popular drink in England since the 17th century when it was introduced to the Royal Court by the wife of King Charles II. This talk by Lawrie Thorne from the University of the Third Age will focus on depictions of tea drinking, and tea parties from the 18th to 20th centuries. These depictions often reveal the sociability of tea drinking and will include works by a wide range of artists.
Why not join stay in the foyer afterwards for a cuppa and mince pie before the Lunchtime Talks programme breaks for Christmas?
All talks are free but require a ticket. These can be collected from the Museum's Welcome Desk or you can call 01752 304774.
