Three dance partnerships are striving for the National Amateur Championships title in Blackpool. Nancy has a new partner Luka, who has come all the way from Russia, bought and paid for by her dad. Then there’s married couple Justin and Jodie who are living like professional dancers who aren’t getting paid. They make it via the hard shoulder of the M6. Meantime reigning champions Samantha and Lee are out to defend their glittering crown. Although Sam’s habit could get in the way of victory.

What’s certain is that the winners will have the world of ballroom at their impeccably polished, foxtrotting feet. But beneath the bottled tan, blinding dentistry and bright, mirror-ball lights, there is real-life strain, suffering and sacrifice. So, who will get through to the next round? And what will it cost them?
