Chamber Series: The Oxford Philomusica Orchestra
"Borodin String Quartet No. 2 in D major.
Shostakovich Piano Quintet in G minor, Op. 57.
The principal players of the Philomusica present an afternoon of Russian chamber music: Shostakovich's only quintet - an emotionally-charged masterpiece composed during the Second World War - and Borodin's enchantingly beautiful second String Quartet, written by the composer as a love-letter to his wife. Box Office - 01865 980 980."
