We all had a blast when Connor played last year and so did he! Haven Club is thrilled to announce his return.
With several awards under his belt, including Trad Blues Artist of the Year from the UK Blues Awards in 2025 AND 2026 he is flying. He really is a musician that we need to catch now while we can, before he plays the sterile, expensive arenas.
Authentic, roots-based voices have penetrated the mainstream in recent years; from the soulful yearns of early Leon Bridges, the groove of Gary Clark Jr., the booming voice of Jacob Banks, the raw and haunting delivery of Ray LaMontagne or the earthy tones of Rag 'n Bone Man - those voices cut through, and they stand out, they make you take notice, because they don't sound like everyone else. Connor Selby's voice echoes these trailblazers, enveloping his music with an emotional integrity.
He has played with The Who at Wembley Stadium and appeared at the Hyde Park Festival in London, alongside Pearl Jam and Stereophonics. He has toured with powerhouse singer Beth Hart, including a performance at the iconic London Palladium, as well as shows with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robert Cray, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Betty LaVette and Soul Icon P.P. Arnold. Watch him on stage, evoking a calm, assured confidence at odds with many other guitarists' wild shredding. The poise and aura of players like Eric Clapton and Peter Green's emotive storytelling dance along his fretboard as he's lost in his thoughts.
Experiences are the fundamental things that make us all grow. These experiences cannot help but permeate his music. With every release, we're learning a little bit more about Selby. On The Truth Comes Out Eventually, he truly explores all facets of his musicality—Is he a big band leader? Is he a smouldering guitar hero? Or is he a delicate folky troubadour? Having already played a number of iconic venues such as the 100 Club and Borderline, and having clocked up numerous festival appearances, the young British bandleader-guitarist-vocalist writes his own songs and builds on influences as diverse as Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, and Nick Drake.
With his soulful vocal style and his distinctive guitar playing that evokes the British blues boom of the 1960’s, Connor has consistently captivated audiences and is making a name for himself.
