Singing Masterclass
Theatron Novum with the support of RECSO is organising a singing masterclass with soprano Dame Emma Kirkby, one of the world’s most renowned early music specialists.
The masterclass will take place at the Somerville College Chapel, Oxford from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on the 29th February 2016 and it is free and open to the public.
The repertoire will include dramatic songs and arias by Henry Purcell. The participants will be singers from Theatron Novum’s production of The Fairy Queen which will be on at the Oxford Playhouse in 4th to 7th May 2016.
The masterclass will be preceded by a lecture on historical gesture and acting practices which will take place from Midday to 1:00pm at Seminar Room 3, Radcliffe Humanities Building (no booking required). The lecture will be followed by lunch.
