Four Composers, One Story - Romeo And Juliet
Join Oxford University Philharmonia for the concert of the season! Four composers present Romeo and Juliet in vastly different ways.
Hear Bernstein's West Side Story Symphonic Dances from 20th century America, Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet from Soviet Russia, Bellini's I Capuleti e i Montecchi from 18th century Italy, and finally, hear a French interpretation in Romeo's famous aria from Gounod's Romeo et Juliette.
Two fabulous soloists join us for the arias: mezzo soprano Hannah MacDermott and soprano Elspeth Piggott.
