Not Quite Nice: A Debut Novel

Olivier award-winning actress Celia Imrie introduces her debut novel Not Quite Nice and talks about her life on stage and screen. Imrie is best known for her roles in the films Calendar Girls and Nanny McPhee and for television roles in After You've Gone A Dark Adapted Eye and Acorn Antiques. She has also recently appeared in her own cabaret/revue show Laughing Matters.February sees publication of Imrie's debut novel in which 59-year-old Theresa swaps her Highgate townhouse for a flat in the French Mediterranean seaside town of Bellevue-sur-Mer near Nice. The story features a host of eccentric characters and the charming Brian who catches Theresa's eye. Not Quite Nice is a witty story of secrets friendship and the lesson that it is never too late for a new beginning.Imrie was recently signed on a two-novel deal by Bloomsbury. She has also written an autobiography The Happy Hoofer.
