Krapp sits alone with himself – in fact, he’s surrounded by many of his past selves. Spools of tape spill out onto the table, each containing a recording he’s made. Each containing a glimpse into his past. But as the words of the past and the present blur together, we begin to wonder if words can ever be a substitute for experience...

As the 69 year-old Krapp looks back on his 39-year-old self, who in turns reflects on the 20-year-old Krapp, Beckett creates a haunting and irreverent portrait of a man lost in his own memories.

In an age where our social media feeds eagerly remind us of our memories from previous years, this one-man play grows ever more relevant.
