Sometimes I Smile Politely
Whether on the street or in school, work or at home, there are times in a woman's life when she feels she has no choice but to smile politely... well, sod that.
Developed from the poem 'I Smile Politely' about street harassment, which was performed to acclaim at the Southbank Centre's WOW Festival London 2016, this is a show about how Ness Lyons learned to speak the fuck up about objectionable things.
Written and performed by Ness Lyons, featuring actress April Hughes (from The West End's The Play That Goes Wrong).
Ness Lyons is a poet & playwright whose work has been performed at The Criterion Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, for Young Feminists London and at various London fringe theatres.
Ages 14+.
