The Shee

The Shee are 6 young female folk musicians from England and Scotland who have been steadily building their reputation for the last 10 years.

Included in their number are accordionist Amy Thatcher, well-known as member of Kathryn Tickell’s band The Side, and Rachel Newton, the harpist who won Musician of The Year at the 2016 Scottish Folk Awards.

Add twin fiddles, flute, mandolin and vocals and it all adds up to a richly creative line-up who explore and experiment with instrumentations and rhythms to create a richly distinctive sound which is anything but run of the mill.

As should always be the case when musicians get together in the right combination, The Shee are a band which adds up to so much more than the sum of its parts.
