Saltfish Forty

From their island home in Britain’s far north, Douglas Montgomery (fiddle, mandolin) and Brian Cromarty (vocal, guitar, banjo) have built a reputation that spreads far and wide, with appearances at many of the UK’s major folk festivals and the top Celtic festivals worldwide.

Together, they brilliantly transcend the conventional confines of the duo format with their raw attack, playing traditional, contemporary and original material all developed in the buzzing music scene of Orkney.

Although the music has a very definite celtic base, they boldly cross-fertilise it with American and European influences - Celtic folk has never sounded better than in the hands of Saltfishforty, as they head south of the border for a rare English appearance outside the festivals.
