At this concert, they will be performing a delightful mix of English music including Byrd's Ave verum corpus, Purcell's Motets and Vaughan William's beautiful Mass in G Minor. The latter is written for unaccompanied double choir and soloists. It was written in the 1920's in the same era as Vaughan Williams's much loved Lark Ascending and the links with such pastoral works are obvious with rich harmonies evoking the English countryside as well as echoes of haunting polyphony going back to the 16th Century.
Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start.
Pimm's in the churchyard pre-concert and during the interval.
Children under 16 go free but please book if possible
