Grayshott Folk Club presents: MERRY HELL
Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser
Friday 6th August 2021 @ 7.30pm
Merry Hell took Grayshott Folk Club by storm in July 2019 bringing the feel good, festival vibe to a sell out audience. We couldn't wait to get them back again and after stopping off to play for us, they'll be heading to Wickham Festival in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
Merry Hell are a six-piece acoustic Folk/Rock band founded on the ever-evolving Folk tradition – music made by the people and shared by the people. Six albums and ten years on the road constantly gigging, have meant these guys have served their apprenticeship and are ready and eager to entertain us all. As big festival favourites, they'll send us all into our shortened Summer break with a skip in our steps and a smile on our faces.
"A rocking, rollicking afternoon was had in the company of Merry Hell who rattled the windows and raised the roof of a packed Half Moon, Putney, with a set that got the audience joining in, in a way London audiences normally don't. It was a cracking show; Merry Hell are a must-see band because they have everything you could want. There are the party songs along with anthems but what sets them apart is the social conscience to their songs. They aren't really protest songs but songs like "Come On England", express a desire for the kind of society that we'd all like to see; one which isn't based on division. If you've never seen them live, do yourself a favour and put that right as soon as possible."
