ALDEN, PATTERSON & DASHWOOD
Tonight we host some of East Anglia's finest young musicians and both of these trios have played for us before. We know how good they are, which is why we have invited them back to play for us again. Each trio will play their own individual set and for the last set of the evening, they will join together to form a six-piece band.
Norwich-based Folk/Americana trio A, P and D, weave rich vocal harmonies, Fiddle, Dobro, Guitar and Mandolin, around beautifully- written original songs and melodies. Their music takes influences from English Folk traditions with uplifting instrumentals and self-penned songs depicting tales of young travellers, sleepy seas and their deep affection for home.
Their independently-released debut album ‘Call Me Home’ was awarded ‘Editor’s Choice Album of the Year’ by fRoots Magazine, the UK’s leading publication specialising in Folk and World music.
Over the last three years the trio have made a name for themselves as one of the best new acts on the scene and they have toured the UK and Europe extensively and played main stage slots at the UK’s most prestigious festivals.
They have also toured with folk legends Show of Hands.
Alden, Patterson & Dashwood are:
Christina Alden:Guitar/Vocals
Alex Patterson: Fiddle/Vocals
Neil Dashwood: Dobro/Vocals

THE SHACKLETON TRIO
The Shackleton Trio play an exciting blend of Americana, Folk and self-penned material. Accompanying herself on the fiddle, Georgia Shackleton writes and performs 'wordy songs about other people’, and is instrumentally influenced by British, American and Scandinavian folk traditions, with a regional twist from her native East Anglia.
Georgia Shackleton's skills as a Singer and Fiddle player have been put to the test in numerous different contexts, and this trio sees her teaming up with Guitar powerhouse Aaren Bennett and Mandolin ace Nic Zuppardi.
Together they have toured the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands, appeared at Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Towersey Festival, Broadstairs Folk Week, Folk East, and at concert halls and Folk clubs all across the UK.
“Sparky, charismatic and intensely assured”– fRoots Magazine
