Italianesque
Morten Lauridsen’s Madrigali, inspired by their 16th texts, are set alongside Tenebrae Responsories by the infamous murdering Prince of Venosa, Carlo Gesualdo, and Montverdi’s Lamento d’Arianna, one of the great 16th century laments.
The programme is completed by Orlando di Lasso’s Missa Bell’ Amfitrit’ altera, based on a now-lost madrigal, and Gregorio Allegri’s famous Miserere
Directed by Christopher Duarte.
