Meat
MEAT is a play that attempts to answer the question; why do we eat meat? Narrated by three farm animals, it tells the story of 18-year-old Elanor, who is struggling with this question.
She decides to try out veganism, which happens to be at the worst moment possible; Christmas dinner. Her mum, Julie, is at the end of her tether. Her brother, peter, is doing his best to escape tense family life. Can Elanor navigate this tricky new world without hurting anyone (or anything) on the way?
MEAT is at once completely bizarre and yet utterly familiar. It is a strange, funny, hopeful look at the modern family, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy, as talking animals take you on a wild journey.
