International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is an annual event to inspire women and
celebrate achievements – simply pop in to participate!

This global day of recognition has 100 years of history and its aims are to publicise women’s right to equality in all aspects of life and to champion women’s progress and advancement. The event marks the many milestones made by women as well as providing information and inspiration for future progress.

On Wednesday 11 March an International Women’s Day event is being held at The Forum and is free and open to everyone. Visitors can take part in activities and enjoy talks, performances, quizzes, music and an
international bazaar.

There’s a full day’s programme of films about women in the Curve auditorium and free workshops covering subjects such as self-esteem, confidence-building and relaxation techniques.

Women’s rights and achievements will be championed using art, literature and interesting artefacts. This is, of course, also a great opportunity
for women from all walks of life to network.
