Kumkum Malhotra: A Live Story

Preti Taneja’s award-winning novella set in New Delhi is brought to life in the grounds of Norwich Castle as a three-part live story. In a small house in Nizamuddin, Kumkum Malhotra is preparing herself for the evening ahead when suddenly a shameful incident sets in motion a sequence of events; at first unravelling her evening plans, then ultimately her very sense of self.

Experience Kumkum’s deeply moving story through multiple artforms and sensory encounters including photography and dance. As you are guided around the Castle grounds, watch as our heroine disappears: from a family, from a life, from a story.
