The Annual Free Convention, Absolute Free, Walk In My Shadow

The Annual Free Convention is a celebration of music by the band Free and all related project including solo albums of the members - Paul Rodgers, Paul Kossoff, Simon Kirke and Andy Fraser - and any bands they have played in since Free e.g. Bad Company.
The event is held for fans of the band and to continue their legacy. All profits raised at the Annual Free Conventions are donated to a great cause, The Northern Brainwave Appeal.

This year's Free Convention will be held at the Cullercoats Crescent Club, Saturday 15th August 2020.
It will make for a great atmosphere and the sound in that room will be fantastic.
As a bonus the beer is top quality and very reasonably priced too. It is a stone's throw from the Park Hotel and is very close situ to the metro station.
I hope the 15th August date and venue will be welcomed by fans.
I have 2 great bands already lined up who have agreed to cover the Fire and Water and Highway albums between them besides a lot more of Free's songs in 3 hours of great live music.
Absolute Free from last year will be playing alongside Dave Morris and his band who played at the 1991 Free Convention with Rabbit.
I know you are going to be blown away with the 2 bands. I am very excited by the quality of the musicianship of these 2 bands.
One of my fave Convention moments was Dave playing great Koss licks on Common Mortal Man and I'm on the run back in 1991, the interplay with Rabbit was a joy to be seen.
I might yet consider an addition to the line up providing it's a short spot and I may be offered something different to the music being played by the 2 bands.
